The Department of Computer Sciences Cybersecurity Bachelor’s Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions to deliver innovative and industry-relevant cybersecurity education. Screening of applicants will take place when positions come available. The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach.

  • Teach undergraduate cybersecurity courses
  • Design and update curriculum to reflect the latest trends in cybersecurity
  • Engage students in hands-on learning experiences
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans
  • Grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed
  • Maintain office hours
  • Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in the above fields combined with minimum five years of industry experience in cybersecurity
  • Proven ability in education, technical aptitude, creative problem-solving, and teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of national cybersecurity educational frameworks
  • Industry and higher education teaching experience
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications
