About The Position

Akira Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist II who will provide the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) support for the ground portion of the AFGSC Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (G-ASNT) in support of the 55 SCS and 55 WG (Command Post). This role supports the maintenance of an Authority to Operate (ATO) for mission-critical NC3 systems that deliver protected and resilient communications to missile, nuclear bomber, and support aircraft crews operating in austere environments. The Cybersecurity Specialist II will serve as a primary cybersecurity advisor, ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and maintaining an appropriate operational security posture to support mission objectives. This is an onsite position supporting Offutt AFB in Nebraska. A security clearance of TS/SCI is required for the position.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum of four (4) years of cybersecurity experience
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Strong working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • DoD 8570/8140 certification at IAT Level II, IAM Level II, or higher (e.g., CISSP, CAP, Security+)

Responsibilities

  • Provide cybersecurity support for development and maintenance of RMF packages supporting the ATO for G-ASNT ground systems.
  • Develop, review, and update RMF documentation in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 requirements.
  • Advise on all matters involving RMF, Assessment & Authorization (A&A), and day-to-day cybersecurity operations for NC3 mission systems.
  • Manage and document A&A efforts within eMASS or other PMO-designated workflow platforms.
  • Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, security policies, procedures, and supporting artifacts.
  • Conduct risk assessments and document findings, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions.
  • Perform system audits and ensure proper implementation of security controls.
  • Advise customers on implementation of cybersecurity doctrine, policies, and technical safeguards.
  • Establish and satisfy cybersecurity requirements based on user needs, regulatory requirements, PMO guidance, and mission demands.
  • Analyze and resolve cybersecurity-related technical issues requiring coordination with the G-ASNT Program Management Office (PMO) and internal stakeholders.
  • Document and track security controls and artifacts using Microsoft Excel and other required tools.
  • Maintain G-ASNT documentation repositories (electronic and physical files).
  • Provide monthly cybersecurity status reporting.
  • Attend required in-person and virtual cybersecurity meetings.
  • Support additional G-ASNT cybersecurity-related tasks as assigned.
