About The Position

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for protecting Horizon's information systems from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access. This role involves monitoring networks, analyzing security incidents, implementing protective measures, and ensuring compliance with security policies and industry regulations. The Cyber Security Specialist reports directly to the IT Director and works closely with the Network & Systems Support Manager and the technical services support team to strengthen and maintain security defenses and respond to security breaches effectively.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three to five (3-5) years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
• Prior experience in network security, system administration, or penetration testing is a plus.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Pentest+, CompTIA Network+ certifications.
