About The Position

Leidos is looking to hire a Cyber Security Specialist Junior in Camp Pendleton, CA to join our NGEN program. NGEN-R is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of NGEN-R, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Current Security+ certification.
  • US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HBSS.
  • Experience with Tenable Security Center.
  • Experience with Redseal.
  • Experience with McAfee Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM).
  • Experience with PKI.
  • Experience with IPS.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all aspects of Information Systems (IS) data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation.
  • Implement and monitor security measures for communication systems and networks.
  • Advise that systems and personnel adhere to established security standards and Governmental requirements.
  • Develop and execute Government approved security policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Implement data network security measures.
  • Operate and monitor network intrusion detection and forensic systems.
  • Conduct IS security incident handling.
  • Support Continuity of Operations Plan/Disaster Recovery (COOP/DR) plans.
  • Perform certification of IS and networks.
  • Operate Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Operate Host Based Security System (HBSS), firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and other security tools.
  • Perform defensive cyber operation duties including ensuring workstation and server compliance with Marine Corps HBSS requirements.
  • Identify cybersecurity incidents using HBSS, Tenable SecurityCenter, RedSeal, and McAfee SIEM.
  • Operate Imperva Web Application and Database firewalls.
  • Perform forensics and remedial action on cybersecurity incidents.
  • Report defensive cyber operations statistics.
