About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Provides expert support, research and analysis of exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to them. Serves as technical expert to the Cybersecurity Assessment Program providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives to complex problems. Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills. Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles, concepts, and methodologies. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides highly innovative and ingenious solutions. Recommends cybersecurity software tools and assists in the development of software tool requirements and selection criteria to include the development of product specific STIGs from applicable DISA SRGs. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical leadership and daytoday direction for the Cybersecurity Engineers
  • Establishes team priorities, assigns tasks, and ensures timely completion of remediation, assessments, and compliance activities
  • Mentors engineers, develops skill growth plans, and enforces engineering best practices
  • Coordinates crossfunctional efforts with network, systems, application, and mission partners to drive enterprisewide security improvements
  • Develops and executes the organization’s vulnerability management strategy, ensuring alignment with DoD cybersecurity requirements and mission objectives
  • Oversees teams scanning, reporting, and remediation workflows to maintain continuous compliance and inspection readiness
  • Ability to leads preparation and response efforts for CCRI, CORA, Blue Team, and other DoD cybersecurity inspections
  • Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including documenting and implementing STIGs, TCG configuration guides, IAVMs, and Task Orders
  • Updates and tracks POA&M entries by documenting findings, logging remediation actions, and keeping milestone dates current to ensure issues move toward closure.
  • Leads risk assessments and provides riskbased recommendations to leadership for prioritizing mitigation actions
  • Ensures auditready documentation, accurate reporting, and traceability of all cybersecurity activities
  • Establishes governance processes for patch management, configuration compliance, and change control
  • Provides recommendations and guides of the design and optimization of vulnerability scanning architectures, endpoint security platforms, and automation pipelines
  • Expert ability to leverage automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python) to remediate vulnerabilities at scale
  • Expert level knowledge in scripting with the ability to reviews and validates engineers’ scripts, automation workflows, and remediation tools to ensure security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Provides seniorlevel expertise on network security architecture, segmentation strategies, and zerotrust principles
  • Evaluates new security technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance enterprise security posture
  • Ability to create dashboards, analytics, and trend reports using Power BI, Power Platform, and enterprise data sources
  • Synthesizes complex technical findings into executivelevel briefings and actionable recommendations
  • Ensures consistent, highquality reporting on vulnerabilities, compliance status, and risk posture for leadership and inspection teams
  • Serves as the primary cybersecurity liaison to leadership, mission owners, and external assessment teams
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement, proactive risk reduction, and operational excellence
  • Ensures cybersecurity activities support mission readiness without disrupting operational tempo
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving security issues.
  • Strong skills in implementing Cyber Security solutions.
