The Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) Manager at Clemson University is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the CSOC resources. This role involves developing, testing, and implementing monitoring, detection, investigation, and incident response procedures. The CSOC Manager will document processes and procedures, automate playbooks, and allocate CSOC resources effectively to address identified risks and priorities established by the University's Information Security Program. The position requires a proactive approach to managing security incidents and ensuring that all CSOC processes are documented and published. The CSOC Manager will also work closely with CSOC staff to improve the operation and effectiveness of the center, providing leadership guidance and mentoring to foster a positive work environment that inspires innovation and collaboration. In addition to leading and directing daily CSOC operations, the manager will oversee the activity of the CSOC team, which includes hiring, training, mentoring, and assessing staff. The CSOC Manager will coordinate team scheduling, manage project deadlines, resource allocation, and task completion, while also interfacing and collaborating with other University groups and leaders. Establishing reportable data collection, analysis, monitoring, and resolution metrics for CSOC activities is also a key responsibility. The manager will serve as an incident manager, leading staff to proactively identify, respond to, prevent, and mitigate security incidents, while ensuring that all processes and procedures are documented and improved as necessary.
