About The Position

Works under the general direction of the Department Director to lead the development and implementation of the Tax Collector information/cyber security program and practices across the enterprise requiring use of independent judgement and a deep understanding of the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies.

  • Network security methodologies
  • Process Improvement and Project Management capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, computer science, MIS, or a related technology field from an accredited college or university and 5 years of experience in server, database, application, storage, and enterprise network administration; OR
  • Master’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a related technology field from an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience in server, database, application, storage, and enterprise network administration
  • An equivalent level of education and experience may be substituted as permitted by law

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP or equivalent certification is preferred
  • PMP is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber security strategy to protect the organization's assets and data
  • Oversee auditing of security policies to ensure compliance with existing requirements
  • Manage security incidents and coordinate with internal and external resources to resolve security events
  • Oversee the development and implementation of security measures, such as firewalls, data encryption, and access controls
  • Stay current with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies and assess the current and potential impact on the organization
  • Develop and conduct security awareness training programs for employees
  • Manage other cyber security assets and provide mentorship and guidance to appropriate IT staff, as necessary
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the state of cyber security to senior management
  • Lead the InfoSec meetings and other security related meetings and represent the Tax Collector’s office in external information/cyber security groups
  • May supervise subordinate staff, as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
