As the Summer 2026 Walsworth - Marceline Cyber Security Intern, you will work alongside our experienced cybersecurity professionals, gaining practical knowledge and skills in the realm of digital security and play a crucial role in assisting with various aspects of cybersecurity - from threat detection to incident response and vulnerability assessments. This is full-time, paid position is based out of our Walsworth – Marceline corporate facility and reports to the Walsworth - Cyber Security Manager. The internship program lasts 12 weeks, with an 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday schedule. Anticipated start date is May 27, 2026. The internship is expected to last until August 7, but end date is flexible based off our intern's return-to-college schedule. Note: Interviews for this internship will begin in late September to mid-October 2025.

  • Assist with Threat Detection: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and analyze potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's digital infrastructure.
  • Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and mitigating security incidents, and documenting findings and resolutions.
  • Vulnerability Assessments: Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments, scanning systems for weaknesses, and working on remediation plans.
  • Security Awareness: Help with the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness programs for employees.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security-related activities and incidents.
  • Security Tool Familiarization: Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard cybersecurity tools, software, and techniques.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how cybersecurity integrates with various business functions.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and passion for cybersecurity.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Must hold U.S. work authorization (Walsworth does not provide employment sponsorship)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of at least 60 credit hours towards a degree program OR completion of at least four semesters of college (preferred)
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned office location
