Horizon BCBSNJ is offering an internship program aimed at providing students with exposure to the cybersecurity industry, hands-on experience, and the opportunity to develop collaboration and creative problem-solving skills. The internship is designed to allow interns to actively contribute to meaningful projects while working closely with a mentor and senior leadership. Interns will gain valuable insights into the workings of cybersecurity within a large organization and will be involved in various aspects of information security, including policy support, security audits, and incident response. Throughout the internship, participants will assist in supporting the enterprise-wide information security policies and standards, performing security audits and assessments, and conducting risk analyses and network forensics. Interns will also help administer the security technology stack, investigate alerts, and support the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) in responding to security incidents and threats. Additionally, they will prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and risk, collaborating with the IT Department to remediate these vulnerabilities. The role will also involve reviewing potential phishing emails and following established remediation procedures, as well as escalating and assigning incidents to Senior Cyber Security Analysts. Administrative duties may also be required as needed. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field, with shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities available with seasoned professionals. Interns will also have the chance to attend networking events and company meetings, further enhancing their professional development and industry connections.
