About The Position

The Cyber Security Instructor at Great Plains Technology Center is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in cyber security and related fields. The instructor will engage students through rigorous, standards-based teaching, utilizing technology and project-based learning to foster critical thinking and collaboration. Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Ability to qualify for teaching certification through the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technical Education.
• Two years of full-time industry experience in the subject area.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree.
• Three years of industry experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and standards-based trade and industry instruction.
• Incorporate relevant technology and project-based learning activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
• Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to monitor and evaluate student learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in data analysis to inform instructional decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors, school leaders, and stakeholders to develop effective instructional programs.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.
• Sponsor and actively promote the student organization designated for the assigned program.
• Provide instruction on job-seeking training and assist students in developing an occupational portfolio.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends in trade and industry education.
• Notify the appropriate administrator in the event of absence and maintain a current Emergency Lesson Plan.
