All Native Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Instructor Level Two. The position provides stand-up classroom training and virtual training in cybersecurity policy and risk management to a diverse cross section of DOS employees (Foreign Service, Civil Service, and Locally Employed Staff) and contract staff who work in developing and maintaining information technology programs and applications. The incumbent works independently and requires infrequent supervision. Qualified instructors will have a strong foundation in cybersecurity policy and risk management to include not only teaching these concepts, but educational and working-level experience in cybersecurity policy and risk management.

  • Designs and presents hands-on instruction, lectures, and briefings on cybersecurity policy and risk management related topics.
  • Coordinates facilities and classrooms for domestic and overseas training course delivery.
  • Sets up and operates equipment required in support of curriculum delivery.
  • Reviews course documentation, ensuring course material is up-to-date.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of IT/technical syllabi/curriculum/security lesson plans, administrative/self-study guides, and trainee reference manuals to cybersecurity policy and risk management courses.
  • Responds to student inquiries related to course content and Department standards and policy.
  • Functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in his/her respective field(s).
  • Backfills other instructors as required by the Program Office.
  • Assists other staff members with their course preparation requirements, as directed by the Program Office.
  • Employs applicable Department of State security standards and other procedures to protect national security information.
  • Operates U.S. government vehicles, when necessary, in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Escorts un-cleared personnel, when necessary.
  • Frequent and/or extended U.S./foreign travel can be expected.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant technical work experience, three (3) of which should include teaching or instructional duties.
  • Strong foundation in cybersecurity policy and risk management.
  • Advanced knowledge of current cybersecurity policy and risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able and willing to drive an official U.S. government van/sedan.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completion of a recognized instructor development training course preferred; if none at entry on duty, must obtain the Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification or complete the Department of State Training Tradecraft course (PD505) within 180 days of starting work.
  • Two (2) years as a Level One instructor preferred.
  • Preferred Technical Certifications: ISC2’s Certification Authorization Professional, FITSP-Manager certification; Certified Information Systems Security Professional-Information System Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
  • Working knowledge and application of the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications 800-53rev 4/5, 800-37 rev 2, FIPS 199, and FIPS 200 or similar DOD and Intel frameworks.
  • Prior experience with the Assessment & Authorization process desired but not required.
