About The Position

As the Cyber Security Information Assurance Technician Level II you will be responsible for the Information Assurance program of Information Systems within the network environment. You will fill the role of Information System Security Officer and perform a variety of security related tasks, including the development and implementation of system information security standards and procedures and ensure that information systems are functional and secure within the environment. This position is based in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

Requirements

  • An active DoD TS/SCI Clearance with Poly.
  • BA/BS with 3-10 years experience or; Associates degree plus 4 years experience to the base 3-10 years requirement. NOTE: Associate Degree plus 4 years is the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree. No degree plus 6 years experience to the base 3-10 years requirement. NOTE: 6 years experience is the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and NIST RMF processes.
  • Must currently be DoD 8570 Compliant IAW IAT Level II.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with system administration of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience using Nessus security scanner.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and apply technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Maintain network device and information security incident, damage and threat assessment programs.
  • Investigate network device and information security incidents to determine extent of compromise to national security information and automated information systems.
  • Perform duties in support of in-house and external customers.
  • Design, develop or recommend integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected in accordance with mandated standards.
  • Participate with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
  • Configure and validate secure systems, test security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness.
  • Generate security architecture documentation.
  • Provide critical written and verbal analyses of previously generated security architecture documentation and vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Design and implement plans of action and milestones to remediate findings from vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Provide information assurance for digital information, ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Monitor and test IT systems for vulnerabilities and indications of compromise, incident response and remediation, the development of appropriate policy, relevant user security awareness and training, and compliance with applicable government and other external standards.
