About The Position

Paradigm is looking for a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to support the development, testing, and enhancement of our client's proprietary security solutions built in-house. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with engineering teams to design and build custom hardware appliances, applying your cybersecurity expertise where hardware meets software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, ideally in embedded systems or application security
  • Expertise with static/dynamic code analysis, fuzzing, reverse engineering, and vulnerability scanning tools
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, OWASP, and MITRE ATT&CK
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with secure boot, TPM, HSM, or board-level security implementations
  • Knowledge of protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and secure firmware update mechanisms
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers)
  • Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CISSP are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hardware and software teams to evaluate security risks in open source architectures and custom components
  • Provide actionable guidance to developers to strengthen platform security from development through production
  • Utilize and maintain open-source intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) tools to safeguard systems
  • Monitor, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities across our environment and product portfolio
  • Develop scripts using Python and Bash to support security operations and automation
