About The Position

The State of Ohio DRC is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of security measures to protect enterprise data, systems, and networks. This role is fully onsite and critical to vulnerability management, incident response, and infrastructure security.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Network Security and threat detection
• 12+ years of experience in incident response and vulnerability management
• 12+ years of experience administering Qualys
• 12+ years of experience with remediation documentation and patch management
• Strong experience with risk analysis, infrastructure security, dashboards, and reporting

Nice To Haves

• 4-year college degree
• CISP Certification

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls across systems and networks
• Respond to system and network security incidents and breaches
• Perform scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans across networks, servers, and endpoints
• Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk
• Partner with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation and verify fixes
• Tune vulnerability scans to reduce false positives and improve data accuracy
• Develop vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports
• Conduct testing and assessments to identify infrastructure and system vulnerabilities
• Ensure security best practices are followed to safeguard data and infrastructure
