About the position
The Security Engineer (Tier 1) position at Huber & Associates Inc. is focused on supporting day-to-day information security operations for both the company and its clients. This role involves general administration, troubleshooting of security solutions, and protecting information assets by applying security policies and standards. The engineer will work under the guidance of senior staff and is expected to participate in training to enhance their skills in information security.
Responsibilities
- Assist with development and maintenance of security policies, including documentation.
- Assist incident, problem, and request handling for assigned information security focus areas.
- Assist with security incident response measures to analyze, contain, eradicate, and recover from security events.
- Demonstrate experience in computer security with risk analysis and compliance objectives.
- Demonstrate experience with information security practices, networks, software & hardware.
- Manage, as directed, systems including firewalls, proxy systems, logging and other devices.
- Focus on continuous improvement of response capabilities through automation and critical thinking.
- Assist with definition of security requirements and review systems to determine compliance with established security standards and help develop new standards as necessary.
- Assist with on-call rotation needs for after-hours emergencies, as needed.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in computer related field, business or risk management from an accredited college or university is recommended.
- Ability to obtain one information security certification such as Security+, Network+, CAPM, SSCP, FAIR or equivalent within 12 months of employment.
