About The Position
A Rampant Technologies Cybersecurity Engineer (CSE) plays a crucial role within the Rampant team, reporting directly to the Principal Engineer who oversees the CSE team. The primary focus of this position is to deliver innovative Cyber Security solutions that align with the company's strategic goals. The CSE is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, ensuring that security measures are effectively implemented and maintained. The CSE will be responsible for developing best practices for processes and standards that enhance system security. This includes performing vulnerability assessments using standardized tools such as Nessus and DISA STIGs, as well as making necessary configuration updates to comply with security requirements. The role also involves tracking and fulfilling liens associated with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities as documented in the Plan of Actions and Milestones. In addition, the CSE will be tasked with hardening operational systems, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, and open-source solutions. The position requires validating best practices in penetration testing, configuration analysis, and security, as well as preparing comprehensive security assessment testing documentation to validate applied security controls in support of A&A testing. The CSE will also be responsible for generating and maintaining security accreditation artifacts associated with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including but not limited to the Security Requirements Traceability Matrix. Timely updates in the accreditation database are also a key responsibility, along with providing technical guidance focused on information security architecture.
