The Cyber Security Development Program Associate role is a full-time associate position within an 18-month rotational program, designed as a career accelerator to foster the next generation of leading cyber talent. New hires will start as a cohort in August 2026 and must be located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at their assigned location, in accordance with Capital One's hybrid working model. This program allows associates to explore different roles, teams, and technologies while building deep technical skills and becoming future cyber leaders.

  • Defend systems against evolving threats.
  • Assess network security configurations.
  • Monitor for intrusions.
  • Evaluate cyber risks through rotational assignments.
  • Support compliance initiatives and shape security policies.
  • Conduct penetration tests and assess vulnerabilities.
  • Design defenses to harden systems.
  • Analyze cyber data to understand weaknesses in defenses.
  • Manage and maintain the upkeep of a computer network.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or higher with an expectation to complete by August 2026.
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts such as operating systems analysis and network forensics.
  • Knowledge of network security and protocols.
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity and desire to explore multiple domains.
  • Knowledge of cyber security principles, networking, operating systems, and security concepts.
  • Coursework in IT fundamentals, cloud security, cryptography, network security, and/or data security.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework in digital forensics, malware analysis, or incident response.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Basic programming skills or experience in Java, Python, C#, C/C++, JSON, SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripts.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's or higher in a technical and/or quantitative discipline.
