The Cyber Security Architect at Founders Federal Credit Union is responsible for the security architecture of the enterprise network, focusing on the design and implementation of security solutions to address emerging threats. This role involves developing security best practices, monitoring security controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and threats while balancing business requirements with cybersecurity needs.

  • Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems for a production environment.
  • Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats.
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Identify new vulnerabilities and threats and develop strategies for remediating them in the network.
  • Review and develop Incident Response processes and workflows.
  • Participate in on call duties on Incident Response team and ensure adherence to security strategy, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in information security and IT Framework organizations.
  • Identify and monitor daily security alerts and system review information for notification and tracking purposes.
  • Participate in departmental project implementations.
  • Responsible for network and firewall security.
  • Oversee risk analysis and assessments for system upgrades and new implementations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or fifteen years of related IT security experience is required.
  • Security certification in CISM, CSX, or CISSP is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical details to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in system management and back-office processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, research and resolve questions or concerns.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust to technology changes.
  • Experience with incident response processes and workflows.
  • Familiarity with ISACA, Infragard, and FSISAC organizations.
