Community Health Systems (CHS) is a leading healthcare provider operating across 40 distinct markets in 15 states, with a commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery. As a member of the Cyber Architecture team, the Defense Architect will play a pivotal role in the Cyber Security Risk Management (CSRM) - Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is responsible for leading a variety of security architecture activities, including the investigation, development, deployment, and maintenance of new capabilities that improve the SOC's ability to monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats and incidents affecting the enterprise. The Defense Architect will act as a security expert within the Security Operations domain, accountable for developing a SOC strategy, security reference architecture, and corresponding capability roadmaps. These efforts will align with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cyber Security Framework (CSF) and the NIST SP 800-53 controls. Key focus areas include Threat and Vulnerability Management (TAVM), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Network Detection and Response (NDR), Log Management, Threat Intelligence, and User Entity and Behavior Analytics (UEBA). In this role, the Architect will guide technology platform decisions to reflect defined SOC capabilities and architectures, considering business impacts, emerging threats, regulatory requirements, and risks. Collaboration with other Enterprise Architects, functional area architects, project teams, and security specialists is essential to ensure adequate SOC capabilities are established across CHS facilities, data centers, and third-party cloud IT systems. The Defense Architect will also communicate risks and solutions effectively to business and IT partners, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the security landscape.
