About The Position

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll work under the leadership of the AVP- Cybersecurity to develop and manage Information Technology cybersecurity, including disaster recovery database protection and secure software deployment. Develops and delivers IT security standards, best practices, architecture, and systems to ensure information technology security across the enterprise. Evaluates the Credit Union to ensure consistent compliance with standards and relevance within industry security norms.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of related experience. Experience within the financial industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+ or equivalent/higher) is preferred but not required.
  • Builds relationships and fosters positive interactions with Credit Union team members, members, and vendors by demonstrating friendly, helpful, and efficient service. Good written and verbal communication skills are required, including patience, active listening, and sound judgment. Communicates effectively with users having varying technical backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Capable of performing independent problem solving and research. Strong knowledge of IT security frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, CMMI, CIS. Must have the ability to apply cognitive reasoning to daily tasks, take ownership, work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Applies knowledge and experience to develop solutions and implement appropriate actions. Must be highly motivated, organized, and skillful with time management. Efficient with multitasking, problem-solving, decision-making, and practical application.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in implementing and oversight of the overarching technology frameworks for managing the design and consistent delivery of secure technology services at all stages of the platform lifecycle.
  • Assist with data loss prevention, risk assessments, and change management control programs. Works with internal and external stakeholders to enforce data security as well as protocol and procedural compliance.
  • Maintains system, security tools administrationm, platform schematics, supporting documentation, and audit support. Prepares and conducts system reviews and prepares management reports, as well as security policies and procedure development.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly review of event logs, identity and access management (user access), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform, and other logging and alerting tools. Coordinates and/or escalates changes, risks, and deficiencies to management according to internal guidelines.
  • Oversees the patch and vulnerability management program. Analyses, tests and deploys patches, coordinates with internal and external resources and vendors to facilitate weekly, monthly, and annual patches, scans, and penetration tests. Leads internal coordination of Credit Union-owned equipment and software patching.
  • Responsible for internal and external risk assessments; tracks and reports progress and completion of deficiencies.
  • Assists with Incident response plans, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity (DR/BC) planning and testing. Works with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and ensure, chain of custody, proper data collection and procedural compliance.
  • Prepares and distributes periodic management and operational risk management reports. Serves as the primary liaison to the Operation Risk Management and Corporate Security groups
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
