As a Cybersecurity Analyst, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Department of State. You will play a crucial role in cyber security and network monitoring.

Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
Escalate incidents to higher-tier technicians or engineering teams as necessary.
Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for future reference and analysis.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Security +CE.
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain an approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2 years (4+ preferred) technical experience.
1 year of helpdesk experience.
Department of State employee or contractor experience preferred but not required.
User experience with system monitoring tools such as Splunk and ScienceLogic.
User experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Familiarity with Cisco Switches and Firewalls and VMWare Products.
Working knowledge of various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred.
