As a Cybersecurity Analyst, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Department of State. You will play a crucial role in cyber security and network monitoring.

  • Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
  • Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
  • Escalate incidents to higher-tier technicians or engineering teams as necessary.
  • Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for future reference and analysis.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Security +CE.
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain an approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
  • Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2 years (4+ preferred) technical experience.
  • 1 year of helpdesk experience.
  • Department of State employee or contractor experience preferred but not required.
  • User experience with system monitoring tools such as Splunk and ScienceLogic.
  • User experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Switches and Firewalls and VMWare Products.
  • Working knowledge of various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
  • Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred.
