About The Position

The SRC Navy Cryptologic Systems (NCS) Directorate supports a number of US Navy Programs, including the Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP), Ships Signals Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program, and Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N). We specialize in engineering support, software development, integration, testing, technical writing, Cybersecurity (administration, policy and engineering), production, technical support, warehousing, drafting, repair and management. As an NCS Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), this position is responsible for ensuring the security requirements of the NCS systems are met. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Designing and developing security designs for existing (and new) requirements Applying patches to the systems using existing automated tools or improved automation processes Reviewing and remediating POA&M items in an automated manner and provide advice on the impacts of the system changes Working closely with system ISSOs to maintain operational security posture Providing input to the RMF process activities and related documentation FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING #LI-LL1

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate)
  • CE/OS certificate may include Windows or Linux
  • A minimum of five years of experience configuring and managing Linux Operating Systems and/or Windows Operating Systems
  • A minimum of five years of experience with cyber security hardening and assessment tools to include DISA STIGs, ACAS, Nessus and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
  • Strong IT security background certifications (CISSP, CISM, CGRC, ISSEP, CEH)
  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive training or experience with Windows and UNIX based Information Systems standards with a working knowledge of networking devices
  • Linux scripting (bash, shell, python) or Windows scripting (Powershell)
  • Experience hardening and scanning containers and container platforms
  • Automation of system configurations on Linux Operating Systems, Windows Operating Systems or VMWare Operating Systems
  • Linux+/RHCSA/MCSA/MCSE/VMWare certification
  • Familiarity with NIA processes and security requirements
  • Knowledge of enterprise compliance tools such as ePO/Trellix, ACAS, Splunk

Responsibilities
