About The Position

Help improve the lives of North Dakota citizens by guiding and leading a team of technical professionals that provide critical cybersecurity services in support of cybersecurity strategies. North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is seeking a Cyber Risk Manager for our Cybersecurity division. As the Cyber Risk Manager, you will: Manage security services including third-party risk assessments, system risk assessments, be responsible for vulnerability management program support and coordination, and collaborate with other security managers. Ensure cyber risk management practices align with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives. Provide leadership and motivation to team members by establishing clear expectations for performance, growth, and collaboration. Work with team members to set individual goals and develop professional development plans. Lead the development and implementation of the organization-wide risk management function, including third-party risk, system risk, and vulnerability management coordination to ensure information security risks and vulnerabilities are identified, analyzed, prioritized, and monitored. Design, develop, and implement dashboards, metrics, and reports to monitor and communicate the effectiveness, impact, and value of services delivered by the Cyber Risk Team. To succeed in this position, you will be comfortable working in an environment with a continuous workload, leading a team, and placing an emphasis on customer service and quality. You must be an excellent communicator and be able to work with other teams in the organization to resolve issues and provide and receive constructive feedback. You must be highly organized, and able to manage your and team members' time and priorities effectively to meet agency expectations. You are a dedicated leader who develops others, enforces high expectations, and will be expected to have expert level knowledge of cyber risk management practices and industry frameworks. Candidates for this position can live anywhere in the United States. If selected candidate lives within a 50 miles radius of NDIT offices in Bismarck or Fargo, North Dakota they will work on site one day a week. Otherwise, this position will work remotely full time. Preference will be given to candidates living in North Dakota or a border community (Moorhead, MN, East Grand Forks, MN etc). Requirements

  • Have a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, and have worked in a cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or GRC function for a minimum of five (5) years. Of these 5 years, you must have 2 years of experience leading a Security team or leading security processes.
  • Additional professional work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
