About The Position

Our client is seeking a Cyber Operations Engineer in Washington, DC. The Cyber Operations Engineer will play a vital role supporting a Homeland Security client, focusing on operational compliance, automation, and project coordination. This position is well suited for a candidate skilled at the intersection of engineering, scripting, and operational delivery, who thrives in a dynamic federal environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–4 years of experience in operations, DevOps, or automation engineering.
• Proficient in Python with experience building and modifying automation workflows.
• Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI.
• Strong multitasking abilities and effective communication skills across teams.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and monitoring across security vulnerability and scanning platforms.
• Monitor system health and process flows; escalate issues until automated alerting is implemented.
• Support operational project management including tracking requirements, updating timelines, facilitating team syncs, and ensuring deliverables are met.
• Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, compliance, and security teams.
