About The Position

IPSecure, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Network Engineer with expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity, and advanced network testing. This position supports the design, implementation, and validation of secure, high-performance network infrastructures used in mission-critical defense and enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Cisco and VMware technologies, hands-on experience with network testing and evaluation, and the ability to identify and remediate vulnerabilities through systematic analysis and performance validation.

Requirements

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco and VMware environments.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and testing complex network infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (ASA, Firepower).
  • Proficiency in VMware NSX-T, including network virtualization, micro-segmentation, and security policy configuration.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance testing tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Working knowledge of network automation (Ansible, Python).
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and network security principles.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven, security-sensitive environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization (VCP-NV)
  • Experience testing or integrating cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Prior experience supporting DoD or federal network testing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructures to support testing and evaluation of cybersecurity systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive network testing and analysis, including performance validation, protocol compliance, and security posture assessments.
  • Deploy and manage Cisco routers, switches, firewalls (ASA, Firepower), and wireless controllers in lab and operational environments.
  • Implement and support VMware NSX-T environments for network virtualization, including logical switching, routing, segmentation, and security policy enforcement.
  • Leverage network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) to collect and analyze performance metrics and identify anomalies.
  • Develop and automate testing procedures using tools such as Ansible and Python to improve repeatability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers and testers to simulate attack vectors, assess defenses, and evaluate mitigation strategies.
  • Document network configurations, testing results, and findings for reporting and accreditation purposes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in network security testing methodologies and compliance standards.
