PeopleTec is currently seeking a Cyber Engineer SME to support our Huntsville, AL location. The candidate will serve as a Cyber Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Project Management Office's (PMO) within PEO Missiles and Space (PEO MS), and will be responsible for providing technical support to the program's Chief Engineer and the Product Manager. The candidate will offer technical guidance and leadership in cybersecurity, ensuring robust protection of defense systems. The candidate will prepare, and present cybersecurity findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders. Will work within and/or lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve program goals. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager. The Candidate will be required to interface with internal PMs across PEO MS and external organizations to include Army Futures Command, multiple Cross-Functional Teams, HQDA, ASA(ALT), RCCTO, ATEC, AMCOM, and others for coordination and synchronization of C-UAS technical and programmatic objectives. The candidate will prepare and present technical briefings to PMO management, team members, and stakeholder organizations in matters related to Cyber Security topics. And will work within and/or lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve program goals.

  • Architect and evaluate cybersecurity solutions for mission-critical systems, ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks.
  • Provide expert analysis of threat vectors and implement advanced defensive measures to protect against evolving cyber threats.
  • Ensure compliance with defense and industry cybersecurity standards by managing cybersecurity processes effectively.
  • Interface with internal teams and external organizations to coordinate cybersecurity objectives and strategies.
  • Prepare and present cybersecurity findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct strategic planning and coordination to support cybersecurity program objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to peer and subordinate engineers within the Cybersecurity team.
  • Use digital tools and methodologies to manage cost, schedule, and performance for assigned cybersecurity activities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager.
  • 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in cyber security, particularly within defense or aerospace industries.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and defense quality requirements.
  • Proven ability to implement testing protocols and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work.
  • Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance with Top Secret/SCI Eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
