U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Cyber Defense Engineer (multiple positions) in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves performing the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes, and controls related to cyber defense initiatives. The engineer will implement and support solutions and technologies, including network proxies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, remote access, second factor authentication, security event monitoring, infrastructure and system hardening, patch deployment, and vulnerability management. The position also requires coordinating and driving remediation of identified risks and control deficiencies, optimizing security processes, and serving as a technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas. Additionally, the engineer will support and participate in incident response and technical investigations as needed, ensuring adherence to compliance regulations and policies.

  • Perform the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes, and controls related to cyber defense initiatives.
  • Implement and support solutions and technologies, including network proxies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, remote access, second factor authentication, security event monitoring, infrastructure and system hardening, patch deployment, and vulnerability management.
  • Coordinate and drive remediation of identified risks and control deficiencies.
  • Optimize security processes and recommend opportunities and solutions for improvement and automation.
  • Serve as technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas.
  • Raise awareness and communicate security risks within the company.
  • Support and participate in incident response and technical investigations as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance regulations and policies.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, or a related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with RDBMS development.
  • 1 year of experience in an AGILE environment.
  • 1 year of experience with Hadoop, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Sqoop, Hive, PySpark, Impala, AutoSys Scheduling, Tableau, and MSTR.
