About The Position

Inova Cybersecurity is looking for a dedicated Cyber Defense Analyst 3 to join the Team. This role will be hybrid full-time day-shift working Monday - Friday. The Cyber Defense Analyst 3 maintains security monitoring systems and advises on security control implementation. As a subject matter expert, they ensure compliance with policies, federal regulations, and standards. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration to enhance technical outcomes. Responsibilities include IT compliance, audits, remediation, managing complex IT projects, and maintaining system applications. They oversee updates, security optimization, IT change management, protected health information, segregation of duties, and user provisioning. The role also focuses on improving outcomes through research-based processes and communicating updates to stakeholders, including operations teams, executive sponsors, and steering committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity or Information Security or in system or network administration.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience deploying cyber security tools (i.e. SIEM, firewalls, identity solutions) preferred.
• CISSP, CISM, HCISSP, or Security+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages, escalates, and coordinates response to security events and incidents, including forensic analysis and remediation.
• Analyzes network traffic, identifies anomalies, and provides daily cyber defense reports.
• Correlates data from logs, IDS, and other sources to assess attack effectiveness and situational awareness.
• Writes and modifies scripts for automating tasks and processing data on Windows/UNIX systems.
• Works with intelligence analysts on threat assessments and after-action reviews.
• Develops standards for data compilation, cataloging, and retrieval with actionable insights.
• Provides expertise in cyber disciplines and presents findings to varied audiences.
