About The Position

Position Summary: Cyber Analyst 1 is an entry-level role supporting the day-to-day activities of the cybersecurity operations team. This position is designed for individuals beginning their cybersecurity career and looking to develop hands-on experience with security tools, processes, and client environments. Under the guidance of senior team members, the analyst will assist in monitoring security systems, supporting vulnerability management, and contributing to the overall protection of internal and client assets. Key Responsibilities: 1. Security Operations Assistance Assist in the daily monitoring of security tools such as SIEM, EDR, antivirus, and vulnerability scanners. Support senior analysts in performing health checks, signature updates, and basic system maintenance tasks. Review alerts and logs to identify potential security issues and escalate as needed. Help document operational findings and contribute to internal tracking systems. 2. Vulnerability Management and Reputation Scanning Support Assist in running vulnerability scans and in collecting, formatting, and reporting scan results. Work with senior staff to validate findings and track remediation efforts. Gain understanding of vulnerability prioritization techniques based on risk and business impact. 3. Client Operations Support Support day-to-day operational security tasks for assigned clients under supervision. Help maintain documentation for client environments, tool configurations, and task procedures. Participate in client status calls or reporting efforts when needed. 4. Compliance and Documentation Assist in gathering data for assessments, compliance reviews and maintaining documentation for audits. Assist in writing reports for security assessments, compliance reviews and audits. 5. Process Development and Team Collaboration Participate in internal process improvement initiatives by identifying challenges or inefficiencies in day-to-day tasks. Help create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow documentation. Contribute to the evaluation of new tools or features through testing and feedback. 6. Team Engagement & Professional Growth Attend team meetings, huddles, and training sessions to stay informed on operational priorities. Actively seek learning opportunities and mentorship from more experienced analysts. Participate in onboarding activities for new team members or tools, as appropriate. 7. Additional Duties Accurately log work in the Quest ticketing system for all tasks and deliverables. Ensure all activities meet expected timeframes and client requirements. Take ownership of your professional development and stay current on foundational cybersecurity topics. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 02 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, or system administration (internships or lab experience welcome).
  • Associate or bachelors degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience or certifications considered.
  • Familiarity with security concepts and tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, EDR, vulnerability scanning) a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of networks, operating systems, and endpoint security.
  • Willingness to learn and follow documented procedures in a technical environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical staff.
