About The Position

The CWL Test & Evaluation Engineer supports the testing, integration, and validation of advanced submarine combat and weapons systems within an integrated engineering environment. This role collaborates with internal engineering teams, Department of Defense laboratories, and partner organizations to plan, execute, and analyze system tests supporting maritime defense programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and 4 years of relevant experience)
  • 2+ years of engineering or test experience
  • Experience with at least one of the following U.S. Navy submarine systems: AN/BLQ-10 AN/BYG-1 AN/BQQ-10 Submarine Weapon Launch Systems
  • Knowledge of test engineering concepts, methodologies, and validation processes
  • Experience with software testing and system-level test analysis
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming and scripting
  • Understanding of network configuration, operations, and command-line tools
  • Experience using electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test procedures, test cases, and verification plans for system integration and validation.
  • Collaborate with CWL and MTWS engineering teams to perform system testing and integration.
  • Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) testing to confirm corrective changes and system performance.
  • Identify, analyze, and document software, firmware, and hardware defects, and work with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Utilize electrical measurement equipment including oscilloscopes and multimeters during testing activities.
  • Support installation, removal (rip-out), testing, and validation of tactical systems in lab and operational environments.
  • Configure and maintain test lab environments based on engineering drawings and network port maps.
  • Support formal and informal test events, demonstrations, and customer-driven testing activities.
  • Analyze test results, identify functional issues, and recommend corrective solutions.
  • Provide progress updates and technical findings to engineering leadership.
  • Assist logistics teams in developing system installation and operational procedures.
  • Support field service activities at submarine home ports and government testing facilities.
