About The Position

The Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) is seeking a dedicated professional to assist physicians with direct patient care during various cardiovascular procedures. Requirements

  • Education: RCV through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred; Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RRT, RTT) with board registry/licensure required or Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
  • Experience: Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current RTT or RTR status. AHS BLS-HCP required. Required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit. Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required.
  • Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting physician with direct patient care during procedures in scrub, circulator, and monitor positions.
  • Delivering quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.
  • Assisting in emergent conditions using critical thinking skills.
  • Participating as part of the procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, and closure site care.
  • Participating in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education.
  • Contributing to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission.
  • Actively participating in obtaining desired service line outcomes.
