About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support cardiovascular surgical procedures across a wide range of patient populations. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to work independently within established protocols, and a commitment to maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for candidates trained after 2009)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • National certification through one of the following: NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) AST (Association of Surgical Technologists) NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
  • State licensure (as applicable) – required upon hire
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Required experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
  • Ability to function independently within established clinical protocols
  • Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
  • Proficiency in assisting with complex cardiovascular cases
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Perform scrub duties for cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments
  • Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures
  • Ensure proper handling and availability of surgical supplies and equipment
  • Support surgical cases across all patient populations, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
  • Follow established protocols while maintaining sound judgment and professionalism
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety standards
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and surgical team members to complete assigned unit tasks
  • Utilize computer systems for documentation and workflow support
