About The Position

A leading acute care hospital in the Kansas City area is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist III to join its Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This advanced-level surgical technologist role supports high-acuity cardiovascular, endovascular, and hybrid OR procedures. The Surgical Technologist III functions in both first and second scrub roles, ensuring the highest standards of sterile technique, patient safety, and procedural efficiency. This role requires strong anticipation skills, specialty expertise, and the ability to support complex surgical cases.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of CVOR and endovascular/hybrid OR experience
• Competency to perform as lead tech in the following specialty areas:
• Robotic Surgery
• Total Joints
• Neuro/Spine
• Burn
• Vascular Surgery
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar size facility with comparable services
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) program
• Certification Required:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA
• OR Tech in Surgery (TS-C) – NCCT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• First Scrub Role
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations
• Anticipate surgeon needs based on procedure knowledge
• Ensure proper functionality and readiness of surgical equipment
• Maintain vigilance for patient safety and sterile integrity
• Second Scrub Role
• Assist surgeon and/or surgical assistant during procedures
• Perform tasks including:
• Sponging and suctioning
• Cutting sutures
• Holding retractors
• Manipulating endoscopic/robotic cameras
