About The Position
$10K Sign-On Bonus Full Time Position Monday-Friday schedule (With rotating on-call schedule) Schedule- M-F 6:45am-3:15pm (Flexibility needed as per patient load) Assist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care as well as mentorship/training of surgical technologists in the clinical setting. The Specialty technologist is also responsible for the care, handling and maintenance of surgical equipment, instrumentation and supply management. Responsible for populating the STS Data base or collecting other Perioperative data for performance improvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED. Specific course work: Graduate of surgical technologist program
- Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 6 months surgical technologist experience
- Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
- In depth knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
- Knowledge of computer programs used in perioperative services.
- Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
- Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s Degree
- 3-5 years of working experience as a cardiothoracic-vascular surgical technologist and assistant in a specialty line (Cardiology, Neurology, or Orthopedics)
