About The Position

The Cardiovascular Lab (CVL) Program Specialist is a skilled radiology technician responsible for coordinating shift activities, providing direct patient care, managing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a tertiary medical center. Duties include ensuring smooth patient flow, overseeing equipment maintenance, assigning tasks based on staff competencies, assisting with CVL procedures, as well as expediting supply and equipment contractual agreements This role also involves supporting student training programs and participating in on-call schedules.

Requirements

  • Successful Completion of accredited Radiological Technology Program
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology required
  • Three years of experience in an active cardiovascular lab that serves equivalent types of patients required
  • In-depth knowledge of basic to complex CVL treatments, procedures, instrumentation practices and radiation safety required
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations applicable to CVL and survey process required
  • Proficiency in leadership and communications skills required
  • Exhibits professional behavior at all times
  • Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in CVL radiologic practices
  • Able to read and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program; relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care and treatment; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch
  • Active California Radiologic Technologist license with fluoroscopy permit required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) license required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred
