About The Position
HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center , providing the only full-service cardiovascular program in the area. Services include open-heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic services , as well as orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, acute inpatient rehab, and complete imaging services. The CVICU RN delivers high-acuity care for post-cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiovascular patients. This role requires close monitoring, frequent assessments, and the ability to act autonomously in critical situations.
Requirements
- 1+ year of recent ICU RN experience in an acute care setting required
- Florida RN license or multistate RN license (Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain FL license)
- Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma required
- Certifications required: BCLS within 30 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days of hire
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months
Responsibilities
- Serve as a patient and family advocate, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Provide focused care with continuous assessment and improvement
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans
- Utilize clinical judgment to manage care safely and effectively
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes
