Full Time 36 weekly hours, day shift - 7A-7P, every 3rd weekend Open Heart Recovery/CVICU Unit - 2nd floor, 4002 Building Cardiovascular Open Heart Recovery (CVR), is a seven-bed unit offering intensive recovery rooms and critical care services to the immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patient. The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), is a five-bed telemetry unit that provide intermediate care to cardiac surgery patients from pre-op care through post-op care up to discharge. Previous critical care or open-heart experience is recommended. BCLS and ACLS is/will be required. The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.
