About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiology RN, internally referred to as our Cardio Nurse, Cardiac Stress RN or Cardiovascular RN. Cardiovascular RNs assist cardiologists by offering direct care to patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular diseases. They may use electrocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular monitoring to evaluate the heart health of our patients. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Bonus Options: Up to a $15,000 bonus

Requirements

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
Current ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a CVICU RN.

Nice To Haves

Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress
Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions, including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms
Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively
As a Cardiology RN you may assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress test
Respond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols
