About The Position

The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.

Requirements

  • Active Kentucky License.
  • BCLS required within 90 days of employment.
  • ACLS required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
  • Previous critical care or open-heart experience recommended.
