About The Position

The position involves performing diagnostic cardiovascular examinations as per physician orders and following department protocols. The individual will generate preliminary reports for physician interpretation and will be responsible for electronically charting and charging procedures. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure safe and effective patient care. The role requires effective interaction with patients and their significant others while maintaining professional standards. The individual will also interact with cardiologists and referring physicians regarding critical findings, and will communicate with team leaders and managers about significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status, and equipment malfunctions. The position often requires working without direct supervision, necessitating outstanding work ethics and integrity. Registration in either Adult Cardiac or Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI is mandatory, along with the acquisition of CMEs as required by professional registries and national lab accreditation. Dependability, responsibility, and compliance with all personnel policies set forth by Hendrick Medical Center are expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school.
  • RDCS or RCS in adult echo or RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound (Completed within 1 year of hire date)
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to perform all cardiac or vascular ultrasound procedures available in Non-Invasive Cardiology.
  • Mastery of all equipment including ultrasound systems, PVR, BP monitors, and computer systems.
  • Availability for on-call status, as scheduled, after normal operating hours, on weekends, and holidays.
