About The Position

The Cut & Wrap Production Crew Member is responsible for packaging cheese products at Cabot Creamery's Cutting & Wrapping Plant in Cabot, VT. This full-time position on the second shift involves ensuring the highest safety and quality standards while working on fast-paced production lines. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

• Previous production and/or manufacturing experience is desired, but training is available for motivated individuals.
• Ability to frequently lift 45 pounds.
• Dependability and motivation are essential traits.

Responsibilities

• Process, accurately weigh and label trim, underweights, or other usable cheese, and store properly in trim totes.
• Provide for movement of product through packaging lines, including separating pieces and feeding them to check-weigher and packaging machines.
• Accurately weigh pieces of cheese, communicate variances to target, and make necessary adjustments prior to packaging.
• Ensure product meets or exceeds quality standards, including visual inspection and metal detection expectations.
• Properly palletize product from lines, ensuring accurate counts and correct box information is printed.
• Maintain cleanliness in work areas, assist in changeovers, and help on other lines as needed.
• Communicate with team members regarding quality, safety, mechanical, and operational observations and concerns.
• Adhere to company rules, regulations, and core values, including the Code of Conduct.
• Perform all work-related tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices and report any food safety issues immediately.
