The Customs Trade Coordinator at FedEx Logistics is responsible for the coordination of documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with all international importing and exporting regulations while providing impeccable customer service. The coordinator will obtain the correct classification of goods for customs release using various resources such as databases, standard operating procedures (SOPs), tariff books, and the internet. In addition to classification, the Customs Trade Coordinator will handle data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, which may include managing all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs). Maintaining and keeping current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements is essential. The coordinator will work closely with other internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers to deliver a high level of service. This position may also involve processing agency brokerage shipments and handling remote filings, ensuring that all government and organizational policies are adhered to. The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The Customs Trade Coordinator must be able to handle a high volume of work and time-sensitive tasks while working independently with minimal supervision. The position is entry-level, and while no industry experience is required, a minimum of six months of work experience is preferred. Paid training will be provided to ensure that the coordinator is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of the role.
