About The Position

The Customs Trade Agent is responsible for coordinating the documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers. This role emphasizes impeccable customer service and compliance with international importing regulations while processing various import-related documentation.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required.
  • Required proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US.
  • Provide impeccable customer service to clients.
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from various sources.
  • Data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs.
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to all international importing regulations.
  • Work closely with internal staff and departments to deliver high service levels to customers.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all government and organizational policies.
