About the position

The Customs Trade Agent at FedEx Logistics is responsible for coordinating the documentation required for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers. This entry-level position emphasizes impeccable customer service, accurate classification of goods, and compliance with international importing regulations. The role involves data entry and processing of import-related documentation, ensuring adherence to government policies, and maintaining shipment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US.
• Provide impeccable customer service to importers.
• Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from various resources.
• Perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs.
• Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
• Adhere to all international importing regulations.
• Work closely with internal staff and departments to deliver high service levels to customers.
• Process agency brokerage shipments.
• Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Data entry/keyboard experience required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle high volume of work.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in logistics is preferred but not required.
