About The Position

This request is to obtain approval for one full-time Customs Specialist II position within Customs department to support operations and compliance responsibilities. This role focuses on monitoring multiple tariff programs, validating HTS classifications, reviewing OEM's documentation, supporting duty impact requirements, managing OEM's USMCA, AALA, CAFE and VUCEM formats within each OEM's portal.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ work experience with IMMEX/maquila import/export operations.
  • Experienced and informed with USMCA, CAFE, AALA and VUCEM. Worldwide Logistics import/export customs clearance with US Brokers, including Canda and Mexico.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Must be able to handle stressful situations and time limited constraints as well.
  • Knowledge of Customs CFR.19.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Word, Smart sheets, ERPLX, IPS and pivot table.
  • Bi-lingual English Spanish.
  • Able to work 8am-5pm, M-F and some Saturday mornings.
  • Hybrid (WFH) available upon manager’s request.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, implement and maintain preferential duty programs for OEM's such as USMCA, AALA, TLCUE, VUCEM, CAFÉ.
  • Conduct US Customs diagnostics or internal audit monthly for TIER I and TIER II OEM's.
  • Administrate and maintain manufacturers affidavits from SEWS suppliers and vendors.
  • Contact SEWS Mexican customs departments (t&s, contec, ATR, K&S) for FG and component support.
  • Assist other SEWS co-workers in efficient operation of the tasks assigned to Customs Department.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned while working in the customs compliance department.
