About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Customs Entry Writer to handle the documentation and customs entries for import shipments. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the customs clearance process and have an understanding of import laws and regulations. Ultimately, the role of the Customs Entry Writer is to ensure smooth and lawful entry of goods, manage documentation, and facilitate communication between our company and customs officials.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in customs brokerage operations.
• Familiarity with US Customs procedures and entry types.
• Strong understanding of import laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in relevant software and systems.

• Experience with international shipping and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
• Ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import of goods.
• Communicate with customs officials to facilitate smooth import processes.
• Calculate and process duties and taxes to be paid.
• Classify goods according to tariff coding system.
• Communicate with clients, customs officials, and transportation companies to ensure a seamless delivery process.
• Stay updated on changes in import or export laws and regulations.
• Monitor or trace the location of goods.
• Provide advice to clients on import restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements, quotas, or other customs-related matters.
