About The Position

The Sales Support Specialist (SSS) will be responsible for demonstrating a strong customer focused attitude and promoting customer advocacy. Each SSS will be responsible for guaranteeing our customers are always ready to transact with us while working in fast paced, high volume environment. The ideal candidates will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. They will drive internal and external opportunities as well as partnerships for long-term business growth and profitability. Each SSS is responsible for assisting sellers in the pursuit of business growth, accurate customer master data, and customer satisfaction via consistent and timely task management creating long-term business growth and profitability. They are responsible for maintain a strong professional working relationship with our sellers, our customers, and our internal supply chain. This is a highly interactive position with peers in many other disciplines of the business. A successful SSS will be expected to be solution oriented, use a high level of decision-making skills while aligning to our business' financial objectives a continuous customer satisfaction. All activities are to be managed in accordance with the company's goals of safety, compliance, and code of conduct.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • A combination of education and/or experience will be considered for the ideal candidate
  • Prior experience working in Customer Solutions with B2B customers
  • Chemical/Distribution Experience preferred
  • Aptitude using SharePoint and Tableau (or equivalent reporting tools)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with the MS Office package preferred, strong excel skills are encouraged
  • SAP or relevant ERP systems
  • Salesforce experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensures customer satisfaction by managing key business relationships and consistently delivering on commitments and value; provides a positive and professional customer experience always
  • Acts as an extension of our sales team to our customer base with administrative needs to avoid loss by churn and encourage growth in our contribution margin by providing the highest level of support
  • Manages all documentation requests for customers and works to complete all necessary forms for internal use and follow up with customers on external request from suppliers
  • Assists with creating, manipulating, and reviewing all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports for sales team to keep on budget and on target for their territories
  • Provides customers with sample requests, and sample follow up procedures set in place to ensure customer has everything they need for potential new business opportunities regarding sample requests
  • Ability to handle most complex accounts and utilize skillset for specialized roles/teams and be willing to accept additional responsibilities as needed
  • Ensures all customers are set up accurately via master data and is auditing quarterly to provide quick updates when necessary
  • Quarterbacks the new business checklist to ensure Univar Solutions is equipped to successfully take on new business for the customer
