Requirements

  • Experience as The Soraya Usher for at least one (1) semester preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR, AED and/or First Aid, and TIPS certifications preferred.
  • Catering or food service experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must possess a valid California driver's license.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, team supervisors, artists/artist management, rental clients, and patrons.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service support for events at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and other campus theaters.
  • Operates powered carts for audience transportation between campus parking lots and the theater.
  • Interacts with artists, renters, guests, and audience regarding security, safety, parking, venue access, ticketing and seating, VIP protocols, and emergency exit instructions.
  • Works across various customer service teams including Audience Services, Artists Entrance, and/or Production Hospitality.
  • Performs audience services duties including scanning or tearing of tickets, distributing programs, assisting patrons with finding their seats, and enforcing policies.
  • Monitors security cameras and tracks vehicles parked in the Loading Dock.
  • Ensures backstage guests are properly credentialed and assists with guest management during backstage events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The anticipated hiring range: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • The salary range for this classification is: $16.50 - $24.76 per hour.
  • Intermittent, on-call hours and schedule vary.
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
