The Customer Service Technician acts as the primary contact for patients, prescribers, and insurance providers, offering timely and accurate support for prescription orders, insurance questions, and general pharmacy inquiries, while ensuring high service standards and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g. Explorer, Chrome, Fire Fox)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher applications

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year Pharmacy Tech experience
  • Pharmacy Technician License
  • Experience in working with various EMR and medical billing systems

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls and respond to inquiries related to prescriptions, insurance coverage, order status, and pharmacy services.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Communicate with prescribers’ offices, patients, and insurance companies to obtain missing or updated information.
  • Assist with prescription entry, refills, and coordination of prior authorizations when needed.
  • Document all interactions clearly and accurately in the pharmacy system.
  • Support pharmacy staff with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of pharmacy procedures, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards
