About The Position

Soiland Materials Yard & Garden and Green Recycling Center (formerly Grab N’ Grow) is hiring a full-time Customer Service Representative. We have recently rebranded—same team and ownership, new name. Our Customer Service Representatives serve as the primary point of contact for customers. These principles guide how we serve customers and how we work with one another every day. In this role, the Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for our customers. This position provides friendly and helpful customer service, product guidance, dispatch coordination, and support with regulatory recordkeeping. Strong math and calculation skills are required, including the ability to estimate material quantities, convert units of measure, and process orders accurately in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, maintains accuracy under pressure, and delivers clear, friendly, and professional support to customers and co-workers. They are dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple tasks while staying calm and organized. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., Cashier or Sales Associate), including handling cash, credit card transactions, and customer payments accurately.
  • Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and customer inquiries simultaneously.
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work in a busy environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available).
  • No relocation, housing, mileage, or vehicle assistance is provided. Candidates must live within commuting distance or relocate at their own expense.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years experience as a Weighmaster or Truck Scale Operator.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers; respond to phone and email inquiries promptly, professionally, and with a customer-first mindset.
  • Provide accurate product, pricing, and quantity information; confidently guide customers to the right materials for their needs.
  • Perform required math and calculations (e.g., estimating quantities, unit conversions, order totals) to ensure accurate quoting, ordering, and billing.
  • Process payments, charge accounts, and POS transactions with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with Production via CB or hand-held radio.
  • Verify correct truck loading/dumping and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Inspect inbound materials and determine acceptance or rejection per company guidelines.
  • Help maintain safe, efficient traffic flow for customers loading or dumping materials.
  • Maintain customer accounts, transaction records, logs, spreadsheets, and reports with attention to detail.
  • Coordinate and dispatch trucking for customer deliveries and import orders.
  • Perform opening and closing office duties.
  • Maintain a clean, organized office and showroom.
  • Participate in required trainings and team meetings.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
